the day of my life

I was so excited I couldn’t wait to start.

In 2011 my netball team {Gore Main Steel} went to the Gore Multisports Complex to play a game of netball. It was our first ever game as a team.

We had warmed up outside before we were on the court.  The whistle went we had started the game. We were off. I saw my teammates working together to get the ball down to the goal. Getting that ball in the goal meant everything to me. It would be amazing.

Plop! I got the ball in the hoop. It was an awesome feeling. We were talking about it all day while we went to McDonalds. When got to McDonalds, the player of the day was read out. Our coach asked as who it was going to be I said my best friend Maddie, but I was wrong. It was me. YAY.

After McDonald's, we all went home. But I really didn't want the day to be over.

What were the trenches like to sleep in:

Soldiers in the trenches did not get much sleep. When they did, it was in the afternoon during daylight and at night only for an hour at a time. They were woken up at different times, either to complete one of their daily chores or to fight. During rest time, they wrote letters and sometimes played card games.

For reading I had to read the story The End Then write a question and find the answer in our book.
